SUPPORTING STATEMENT

Please submit a supporting statement of no more than 300 words. Please include a word count.

The submission should clearly demonstrate the impact of the subbing/production team, giving specific examples of changes to copy and explaining why heads, sells, quotes and captions are right for the market the team is working in. Please also cover the management of resources and any extras the team provides. Subbing/production teams are often overlooked and this award gives this vital team a chance to be recognised.

 

REQUIREMENTS

The chief sub/production editor should submit three separate pieces of work, with before and after copy, which show the expertise and skill of their team. They must have been published during the period 1 January to 31 December 2015.

Please note – the title’s editor should ratify each entry.

The judges will be looking for:

  • Consistency of style across content
  • Creativity of heads/sells
  • Quality of copy

Please complete the form below and send it with the statement, pieces of work and payment to the BSME Office. Please send the completed entry form as a word document and include any digital links so they can be easily viewed. The supporting statement and material should be sent as one complete PDF either on a disc or USB stick, with a print-out on A4 paper. Please keep a copy for your records.

Either pay online (click here) or send a cheque made payable to the BSME with your entry. The entry fee is £75.00 for BSME members and £98.00 for Non-BSME members (to qualify for the BSME rate the chief sub/production editor must have been a member of the BSME during the period 1 January to 31 December 2015. If you had temporary membership from entering the main BSME 2015 Awards you must pay the non-member rate).

  • Entries received without payment will not be processed
